Dr Katie Yon is a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Katie completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL) and currently works part-time with adults in an NHS Psychology Service.

Prior to this, Katie has worked in London-based Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and is skilled in working with children and young people of all ages, together with their families and the wider network.

 

 

The psychological therapy Katie provides is evidence-based and draws on a range of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Psychodynamically-informed Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). 

Prior to her Doctoral training, Katie completed a two-year MSc at the Anna Freud Centre and UCL focusing on children and young people’s mental health. Katie has also completed further foundation-level training in Systemic Family Therapy, an approach that involves understanding relationships within families. Alongside her clinical work Katie enjoys lecturing for Doctoral and Masters programmes on various topics within the field of Clinical Psychology, and is an author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Katie’s approach to therapy is warm and compassionate, and she values taking time to tailor therapy to the individual needs of the children and young people she works with.
