Marcelina has 12 years’ experience of working with children, young people and their families across a range of settings including education, residential care, support work and clinical psychology.

 

She works with children, adolescents, and their families, who are experiencing a range of challenges, such as anxiety and low mood. She uses a range of therapeutic approaches, but mainly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) alongside elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches, such as Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)

 

Marcelina also has experience working with looked after children who have a history of developmental trauma, helping their parents and/or carers to make sense of and appropriately respond to the behaviours that they present with. She is very passionate about therapeutic parenting interventions which are based in an attachment framework (DDP/PACE).

 

She is experienced in offering consultation, PACE and attachment & trauma training in parenting, education and the LAC sector.

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / Chartered Psychologist (D.Clin.Psy, C.Psychol)
  • MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology
